Ashutosh Nagar chief Nagarajan to hold media conference on his resignation

Nagaraja Nagaravad, Nagarashtra Chief Minister Ashutoshi Nagarapal, on Friday, announced that he would hold a media conference to present his resignation.

Nagarajan, a member of the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been in power for the last nine years and led the party to victory in the 2019 assembly elections.

His party is in the minority in the assembly, but it has retained the support of the majority of the population.

The CM, who has been on leave since December 31, said that his resignation would be accepted by the Chief Ministerial Panel, chaired by former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The CM also promised to bring the state’s finances in order, as per the Centre’s fiscal plan.

Nagarajin, who had said that he wanted to remain in office, has been facing a slew of controversies since he took over from the BJP’s Uma Bharti in March.

He was accused of abusing his office, which has seen the resignation of a number of top ministers, including former CM Kalyan Singh.

On Wednesday, a court in Mumbai upheld the validity of his resignation and dismissed a petition filed by a prominent leader against the Chief Ministers decision to hold the media conference.
