Indian Army ‘delivers bomb’ at Indian posts

NEW DELHI — Indian Army has “delivered a bomb” at an Indian post, officials said Tuesday, hours after a soldier was killed in a clash between police and protesters in the northeastern state of Chhattisgarh.

The Indian Army said the blast occurred Tuesday morning at the Indian post in the city of Chittagong, which has seen violence over the past year.

“The Indian side has confirmed the presence of a bomb in the premises of the Indian Army post in Chittajong and that it has been delivered by the Indian side,” Army spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Sudhir Kumar said in a tweet.

Indian President Pranab Mukherjee has condemned the attack, and called for calm.

He also urged Indian soldiers to remain calm.
