What is the Maltese Newsport?

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb. 16 (Reuters) – Maltese news portal KMG launched its first news portal on Wednesday, a move that could herald a revival of the news business in the country.

News24 said the new news portal will include “news from all around the world”.

News24, which is part of the same parent company as Malayalam TV, is one of the few news portals that has a presence in the United States, Canada, Europe and Africa.

It aims to provide a platform for “independent journalism and analysis of news, current affairs, business and lifestyle”, the site said in a statement on Wednesday.KMG is owned by Maltese media mogul Mohamed Al Thani, whose empire includes The News TV, The News and other news outlets.

The news portal said it would not change the format of the current one, adding that “the format will be the same, and it will be a platform that will be used by anyone to access the news and views”.

Maltese Prime Minister Dato’ Ibrahim Khatib has said the country needs to diversify its news media, citing the need to “continue to grow and diversify our national and international media assets”.
