Why Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas ‘can’t’ be fit for Italy clash with Roma

The former Barcelona player has been ruled out of the game against Roma because of a knee injury.

The Gunners boss, Arsene Wenger, has ruled out Fabregassas as a precaution and has opted to play Mathieu Flamini instead.

The Italian team coach, Federico Mancini, said on Monday that the 29-year-old “will not be able to play”.

“We’ve spoken with him, and he is very worried about the knee,” Mancinis said.

“He has not been able to train in any time.

I can only say that it’s very difficult to play when you are injured.”

Fabregasi will not play against his former club, but the Italian champions have a strong squad with the likes of Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez in the starting line-up.

“I hope Fabrega is back soon,” said Flamini.

“It’s a big day for him, it’s the day he’s going to start playing with his new teammates.”
