Why ‘Game of Thrones’ star Kristian Nairn died at age 56
Kristian “The Mountain” Nairns, best known as The Mountain from the HBO series “Game of Throne,” died Friday at age 55.
The actor died at his home in the Los Angeles area.
“We are heartbroken to announce that Kristian died on Friday afternoon at the age of 55,” his agent, Alan Sepulveda, said in a statement.
“He was beloved and had been for many years.
His last words were ‘Thank you.’
His legacy will live on forever.
Kristian was a true star, an amazing actor and an amazing person.
We will miss him immensely.”
“Game Of Thrones” stars Kit Harington and Lena Headey also paid tribute to Nairnn on Twitter.
“The world is a darker place than it has ever been,” Headeys tweeted.
“Words can’t express my deepest condolences to Kristian’s family.
He was a friend to so many, and I’m glad he was able to share his passion for this great medium.”
HBO said Nairnmens death was the result of complications stemming from complications of kidney disease.
“Gameofthrones” is one of the most popular series in the television world, with more than two dozen seasons.
